The M.S. in Computer and Forensics program (CFRS) will be kicked off this coming Fall 2009 semester, as many of you know.  Some TCOM students already mentioned their interest to transfer to the CFRS program. Thus, this advises you how to transfer to the new program should you wish to.  Please follow the instructions below carefully, especially the deadline.
If you would like to transfer to CFRS now and you have already earned less than 12 credits in TCOM program:

 1) You need to submit “Graduate: Change of Program or Degree Status” form to the TCOM office with your unofficial transcript.
 2) You need to meet the Director of CFRS, Dr. Jeremy Allnutt, soon, get cademic advice, and submit “Plan of Study” form to the TCOM/CFRS office.  Depending on your earned credits, you might submit “Substitution /Waiver Form”.  Please follow Dr. Allnutt’s guidance.
If you would like to transfer to CFRS and you have already earned more than 12 credits in TCOM program:

 1) You need to submit “Graduate: Change of Program or Degree Status” form to the TCOM office with your unofficial transcript.
 2) You also need to meet the Director of CFRS, Dr. Jeremy Allnutt, soon, get academic advice, and submit “Plan of Study” form to the TCOM/CFRS office.  Depending on your earned credits, you might submit “Substitution /Waiver Form”.  Please follow Dr. Allnutt’s guidance.
 3) You have to submit “Graduate: Waiver of Residency Requirement” form to the TCOM office.  Dr. Allnutt will attach a supporting letter with this form.   This form needs to be approved by Sr. Provost, Dr. Linda Schwarzstein.  This is a time limited offer (between 06/17/09 and 08/10/09).  Please fill in Justification just like this, “The M.S. in Computer Forensics program did not exist when I was admitted.”
If you already earned more than 12 credits, this is the only time for you to be able to transfer to CFRS  (Sorry, there is no exception!).  If you have any more questions, please send the TCOM/CFRS office an e-mail.
