Careers With Most Job Growth

Demand for Telecommunications Network Engineer is projected to grow a whopping 53 percent between 2006 and 2016. Traditionally hired to control and maintain power grids and communications for phone and cable companies, telecommunications network engineers are seeing demand from potential employers rise with the demand for Wi-Fi, broadband and other new technologies.

Convocation 2009

The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering Convocation was held on May 14, 2009 for the graduation class of 2009 and 84 graduates received their Masters of Science in Telecommunications. A reception for the graduating class of 2009 and their guests was held after the ceremony.

The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering Moves to a New Building

In late April, the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering opened the doors of its new building on the Fairfax Campus. The Engineering building is located between the Research I building and the Aquatic Center on the Southeast side of the campus. It houses all academic departments in the school. The program office for the MS in Telecommunications is now located in room 3300 of the Engineering building.
