Welcome New TCOM Students

A large number of new TCOM students attended yesterday's Graduate Student Orientation. Important information about the Telecommunications program and its structure was discussed to allow students to hit the ground running. A copy of the slides from the orientation is attached below.

Selecting Your First Classes

Once you have returned your admissions documents and you have confirmed that you will be attending George Mason University, it is time to choose your initial set of classes. It is a good idea to consult with your academic advisor in this process. There will also be an orientation meeting just prior to the start of the semester where you will receive specific program information and can resolve any lingering questions.

Office Hours

The following are Advisors' office hours for the Fall 2017 semester.
Dr. Paris (Room 3800) --- Walk In (No Appointment Necessary)
Dr. Paris's office hours for Today, Thursday, September 14, 2017 are cancelled.
     Tuesday: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
     Thursday: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Each student will be assigned an academic advisor when she enters the M.S. in Telecommunications program.  Students should review their admission document to find out their advisor.  For students who transferred from another program, the TCOM program office can provide the name of their advisor. There is also an up-to-date list of academic advisors posted outside the TCOM program office.

Plan of Study

Before the end of the first semester, each student is expected to  submit a Plan of Study. This plan should be reviewed and approved by the student's academic advisor.  This Plan should be kept up to date by regular consultation with the student's academic advisor.
